Aplastic Anaemia

PATHWAY OPTIONS
There are a number of choices. Please ensure you select the correct pathway for your sample. Please give as much detail as possible for all samples.

Pathway 9A: Aplastic anaemia diagnosis (marrow)

Use for primary diagnosis of aplastic anaemia. Cytogenetics and molecular testing will be held, and may be performed depending on initial evaluation. Also send: peripheral blood sample to Leeds HMDS for flow cytometry PNH screening
The following tests will be performed:

  • Morphology
  • Flow cytometry (exclude acute leuakaemia)
  • Trephine
  • Cytogenetics (analyse as appropriate)
  • Molecular (DNA analyse if indicated)
  • RNA store sample

Pathway 9B: Aplastic anaemia follow up (marrow)

Use for aplastic anaemia follow up (select options at time of HODS request). Also send: peripheral blood sample to Leeds HMDS for Flow cytometry PNH screening
The following tests will be performed:

  • Morphology
  • Flow cytometry (optional, required only if concern about transformation)
  • Trephine
  • Cytogenetics (hold)
  • Molecular DNA for myeloid gene panel
