When performing a diagnostic marrow for ALL- please take the following samples:

In practice, for the person performing the marrow this means: 

  • Slides for aspirate 
  • Trephine core 
  • 1 x cytogenetics tube 
  • 4 x EDTA tubes (1 local Flow, 1 DNA, 1 RNA and 1 flow send away) 

All samples can be sent to HODS or can be sent via local lab directly.  

Lab to please indicate on request form if samples have been sent directly

  1. IgVH/ TCR rearrangements Bart’s/ Bristol 

* If MLL fusion gene identified- sample will be sent to Guy’s Hospital for primer production to allow follow-up of MRD
