PATHWAY OPTIONS
There are a number of choices. Please ensure you select the correct pathway for your sample. Please give as much clinical detail as possible for all samples.
Pathway 11A: Mast cell disorders (marrow)
Use this pathway for suspected mast cell disorders. A marrow samples required if there is high clinical suspicion of mast cell disorder. The DNA and cytogenetic samples may add information if unexpected second disease is present. Flow cytometry uses the acute leukaemia panel so will support a wider diagnostic assessment.
The following tests will be performed:
- Morphology
- Flow cytometry (mast cell assessment)
- Trephine
- Cytogenetics (hold – optional)
- Molecular (RNA analyse for KIT 816 mutation if mast cell infiltrate is confirmed)
- Molecular (DNA) for myeloid panel
